Heron of Alexandria; Heron, I in. n. e., a Greek engineer and mathematician. Time of his life is uncertain, known only that he was quoting Archimedes (who died in 212 g. BC. BC.), it is the most quoted Papp (ca. 300 g. n. e.). n. e. Engaged in geometry, mechanics, hydrostatics, optics, invented the prototype of the steam engine and precise leveling instruments. The most popular such machines AG as automated theater, fountains, etc.. G. described a theodolite, using the laws of statics and kinetics, described the lever block, screws, military vehicles. In optics, formulated the laws of light reflection, in mathematics - the most important ways of measuring geometric figures.
