Ludwig Emil (Ludwig)

Ludwig, Emil (Ludwig), (1881-1948), German writer and opponent of the Nazi regime, had left Germany after Hitler came to power. Born January 25, 1881 in Breslau in the family ophthalmologist. He studied law, but in 1914 turned to journalism, was the London correspondent of the newspaper "Berliner tageblat". In 1932 received Swiss citizenship, and in 1941 emigrated to the U.S..
