Biography RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS
Funk-rock band from Los Angeles, Red Hot Chili Peppers for years trying to achieve commercial success. In the end, fame came to him in the 90's, despite the constantly changing composition, the eternal problems with drugs and charges of indecency.
The core team has always been vocalist Anthony Kiedis and bassist Michael "Flea (Flea)" Belzari (originally from Australia), who met while still high school students in the late 70's. "Bloch" managed to play in several Los Angeles punk bands before, along with Kiedis they founded in 1983, the Chili Peppers. Together with guitarist Hillel Slovak who moved to America from Israel, and drummer Chad Smith, who had played in the band What Is This, they traveled with concerts at the outskirts of Los Angeles in search of success. At the same time Kiedis and Slovak addicted to heroin, and Slovakia left the band in 1984. He was replaced by guitarist Jack Sherman. In the same year, Peppers have signed a contract with EMI and the end of the year released their self-titled debut album, which did not highlight any criticism, nor the public. In 1985 Slovak returned to the band and they recorded "Freaky Styley", the album is much more oriented to the style of "funky", produced by George Clinton. This album also sold poorly, and the group gradually earned a reputation as "underground" for his wild antics on stage, where they often could be seen almost, and sometimes completely naked. Several times the musicians even the hooligans were arrested for sexual harassment in relation to his admirer.
More aggressive "The Uplift Mofo Party" (1987) and "Abbey Road" (1988) did not have a group of more popular, and in early 1988, Slovakia because of continued problems with the drug again left the Peppers. In June of that year he died of a heroin overdose. After the death of Slovak team has changed yet again. His old friend Irons, very grieved at his death, left the team (he later returned to music and became the drummer for Pearl Jam). After a long search a new drummer, Irons was replaced by Chad Smith. Instead Slovak took guitarist John Frasianta.
Composition temporarily stabilized, and in 1989, Red Hot Chili Peppers released their famous "Mother's Milk", which quickly gained gold status and marked the emergence of a new name on the world rock scene. Goodbye to the company EMI, the group has a label Warner Bros. recorded in 1991, his next album "BloodSugarSexMagik" with famed producer Rick Rubin. The record sold more than 2 million copies, and the songs "Breaking the Girl", "Under the Bridge" and "Give It Away" became regular guests on radio and MTV. Chili Peppers have found, finally, fame and in 1992 went to Lollapalooza-round, after which further consolidated its status as one of the most popular bands of the early 90.
During their tour in 1993 guitarist John Frasiant also left the group, unable to withstand DC tour (it was rumored, however, that in fact, his departure is also associated with heroin abuse). A few years later, however, not without success, he began a solo career. Again left without a guitarist, the group opted for the former party Porno For Pyros Dave Navarro. The new composition Peppers appeared before an audience at the festival at Woodstock in 1994, where they appeared on stage with electric lights on their heads.
After a long break Chili Peppers in 1995, releasing "One Hot Minute", which, however, was unable to repeat the success of "BloodSugerSexMagik". In 1996 the band recorded the processing of disco singles "Love Rollercoaser", which takes 1 place in the charts. "Flea" and Navarro are working on solo projects. Again, rumors of imminent collapse of the Peppers, as it turned out, greatly exaggerated - much of the 1997 Red Hot Chili Peppers have been busy working on new album.
